Statement of Purpose
I think 'reality' is a golden-mean property: if a discourse is too translatable into mechanically testable statements its object reduces away, and if a discourse is too untranslatable into mechanically testable statements its object is exposed as fantasmatic. That's kind of a Hegelian idea to me, in that it says crises of disenchantment aren't just empirical misfortunes where the world fails to vindicate our concepts, but also confrontations with a tension internal to having concepts at all.
My work for the last decade’s been about trying to put together concepts of (so far) capital-P-Poetry and capital-F-Flourishing that live within that golden mean. And by ‘that live within that golden mean’ I mean have-dialectic, will-travel.
